Cookie policy
What cookies augusta.co.ke uses, why, and how you can control them. We aim to be useful and transparent — and to respect that you may not want to be tracked.
01What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that a website sets on your device. They serve a few useful purposes — keeping you logged in, remembering your preferences, measuring how the site is performing — and a few less useful ones, which we try to avoid.
This policy describes the cookies set by augusta.co.ke and how to control them. It is a companion to our Privacy Policy.
02The cookies we use
We use four categories of cookies. The first one is essential; the rest are optional and require your consent.
Strictly necessary cookies
These keep the website functional. They store things like your cookie-consent choice and your active session if you fill in a form. The site does not work without them, so they don't require consent under Kenyan law.
Analytics cookies
These help us understand which pages are visited, where visitors come from, how long pages take to load, and what's broken. We use a privacy-respecting analytics tool that does not collect personally identifying information by default. You can opt out via our cookie banner.
Functional cookies
These remember your preferences — for example, the layout you prefer. They are optional and require your consent.
Marketing cookies
We currently do not use marketing or advertising cookies on augusta.co.ke. We do not run retargeting campaigns. We will update this policy if that changes.
The cookie banner you see on first visit lets you accept all categories, decline all optional categories, or pick which categories to allow. You can change your mind at any time using the same banner — re-trigger it from your browser console or contact us if you can't find it.
03Third-party cookies
Some of the cookies on our site are set by third parties whose services we use:
- Google Fonts — for typeface delivery. No cookies are set, but your browser fetches font files from Google's CDN.
- YouTube — if we embed videos, YouTube may set cookies when the embed loads. We use the privacy-enhanced "no-cookie" mode where possible.
- Form processor — our contact form uses a third-party form processor that may set a session cookie when you submit a form.
Each third party operates under its own privacy and cookie policy.
04Managing cookies
You can manage cookies in three ways:
- Our cookie banner. Choose your preferences when first visiting the site, or re-open the banner via the link in the page footer.
- Your browser. All major browsers let you delete existing cookies and block new ones. Search "manage cookies in [your browser]" for instructions specific to Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Edge.
- Privacy extensions. Tools like Privacy Badger, uBlock Origin, and built-in tracker protection in Brave / Firefox do this automatically.
Note that blocking strictly-necessary cookies will break parts of the site (for example, the contact form may not work).
05Do-not-track signals
Modern browsers can send a "Do Not Track" (DNT) signal. When we detect DNT, we treat it as a withdrawal of consent for non-essential cookies — analytics and functional cookies will not be set.
06Changes to this policy
We update this policy when our cookie usage changes. The "last updated" date reflects the most recent revision. Material changes will trigger a fresh consent banner so you can review the new categories.
