Strategy from people who ship what they recommend.

Most IT consultancies hand you a slide deck and disappear. Augusta's advisory work comes from engineers who've shipped at scale — so the strategy you get is implementable, measured, and doesn't fall apart on contact with reality.

Why us

Strategy you can execute Monday.

Most strategy decks are aspirational. Ours come with implementation diagrams, vendor names, cost ranges, and risks named with mitigations. Because we're going to have to live with the recommendation if you ask us to.

We charge for our advisory and stake our reputation on it. We won't recommend our own implementation services unless they're the right answer.

01

Practitioners, not deck-makers

Every advisor is a senior engineer or architect who still ships. The recommendations you get come from people who'd have to build them.

02

Vendor-neutral

We don't have referral kickbacks with cloud vendors, ERP companies, or product suites. We recommend what works for you, not what pays us.

03

African market context

Strategy that accounts for local infrastructure, regulator behaviour, currency volatility, talent availability, and the specific quirks of operating in East Africa.

04

Fixed-price advisory

Our standard advisory engagements are fixed-price for the deliverable. No open-ended hourly billing on strategy work.

Capabilities

Where we advise.

Six advisory practices, all backed by hands-on delivery experience.

Architecture review

Independent assessment of your current architecture — what's working, what's not, what to refactor, and what to leave alone.

Digital transformation

Multi-year roadmaps that sequence investment, account for talent constraints, and survive board-level scrutiny.

Vendor selection

Honest RFP support — shortlists, scoring matrices, reference checks, and the questions vendors don't want you to ask.

ICT investment cases

Business cases for ICT spend that finance teams actually believe — with real cost models and realistic benefit estimates.

Programme oversight

Independent oversight of your in-flight projects — milestone reviews, risk identification, escalation support to leadership.

Org & talent advisory

Engineering team structure, hiring strategy, build-vs-buy frameworks for the East African talent market.

How we work

From question to plan.

Three phases. No five-week kickoffs that produce nothing.

01

Listen & investigate

Stakeholder interviews, system audit, document review. We end this phase with a synthesised model of your situation that you'll recognise as accurate.

Phase1 – 3 weeks
02

Synthesise & recommend

Options on the table, not a single answer. Trade-offs explicit, not buried. Our recommendation defended with the reasoning, ready for executive challenge.

Phase2 – 4 weeks
03

Brief & transition

Board / steering committee briefing, knowledge transfer, optional implementation oversight. Your team owns the plan from here.

Phase1 – 2 weeks
FAQ

Buyer questions.

The questions executives ask before engaging us as advisors.

How long is a typical advisory engagement?
A standard architecture review or digital transformation roadmap runs 4–8 weeks. Vendor-selection support is typically 6 weeks. Programme oversight is usually a 6-month renewable engagement.
Will you recommend your own implementation services?
Only if we're the right fit and you want us. Many of our advisory engagements lead to implementations by other vendors — and we'll help you select them. Our advisory revenue stands on its own; we don't need to convert every engagement into delivery work.
Do you do board-level briefings?
Yes — and we'll defend the recommendation in the room. Our partners regularly present at board, finance committee and audit committee level.
Can you work with our existing IT team?
Always preferred. We work alongside in-house teams as collaborators, not replacements. The best advisory engagements end with your team owning the plan and confident in it.
What does this cost?
Typical advisory engagements are USD 25K–80K depending on scope. We quote fixed-price after a 30-minute scoping call. No open-ended billing.
